Today, a contract was signed between the Regional Library “Lyuben Karavelov” and the University Hospital “Kaneff”, under which the library agrees to provide expert methodological and resource support to the healthcare institution in the establishment of a new structural unit, “Library.”
The contract was signed by the director of the Regional Library “Lyuben Karavelov” – Ruse, Teodora Evtimova, and the Executive Director of UMHAT “Kaneff” AD – Ruse, Ivan Ivanov.
“Under the contract, in addition to clarifying the vision and objectives of the new structural unit, the public library will assist the hospital in implementing a library system and subsequent bibliographic processing of documents, such as monographs, textbooks and study aids, periodicals, online publications, and others, necessary for the specialists at UMHAT “Kaneff” – shared the director of the regional library, Mrs. Teodora Evtimova, and added: “The hospital can rely on the library to share their experience and best practices for performing specific activities related to the management of collections, classification and description of library documents, reader registration, book lending, creation of reference materials, and keeping mandatory documentation.”
The Regional Library “Lyuben Karavelov” will provide specialists from UMHAT “Kaneff” – Ruse with access to its specialized library collections in the fields of medicine, healthcare, economics, and management, including under the conditions and with the means of the specialized library service Interlibrary and international interlibrary loan. By carrying out the activities under the contract, the library will support the specialists from UMHAT “Kaneff” in identifying, describing, and improving the visibility of their scientific publications. The library will participate in the accreditation procedures of UMHAT “Kaneff” AD.
The Executive Director of UMHAT “Kaneff” AD – Engineer Ivan Ivanov thanked the library team and its director personally for the assistance provided and added that this is the next step in the development of the partnership between the two institutions, which signed a Memorandum of Cooperation in March this year.
