UNIVERSITY MULTIPROFILE HOSPITAL FOR ACTIVE TREATMENT “KANEFF” JSC

- Pursuant to Order No. 26/20.01.2025 of the Executive Director of UMHAT “KANEFF” JSC, Article 69, Paragraph 2, Item 3 of the Health Act, Article 17, Paragraphs 1 and 3 of Ordinance No. 1 of 22.01.2015 on specialty acquisition in the healthcare system, Articles 90 and following of the Labor Code, and the Rules for Staff Selection at UMHAT “KANEFF” JSC, a competition will be held through an interview including one practical and one theoretical question for the following positions:
1.1. “Resident Doctor” in the following specialties:
- Obstetrics and Gynecology – 2 positions – state-funded;
- Anesthesiology and Intensive Care – 4 positions – state-funded;
- Internal Medicine – 3 positions – state-funded;
- Gastroenterology – 1 position – not state-funded;
- Pediatric Surgery – 1 position – state-funded;
- Endocrinology and Metabolic Disorders – 1 position – state-funded;
- Infectious Diseases – 2 positions – state-funded;
- Cardiology – 2 positions – not state-funded;
- Clinical Laboratory – 1 position – state-funded;
- Clinical Hematology – 1 position – state-funded;
- Neurosurgery – 2 positions – state-funded;
- Neonatology – 3 positions – state-funded;
- Neurology – 2 positions – state-funded;
- Nephrology – 2 positions – not state-funded;
- Orthopedics and Traumatology – 2 positions – state-funded;
- Ophthalmology – 1 position – not state-funded;
- Pediatrics – 3 positions – state-funded;
- Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery – 2 positions – not state-funded;
- Vascular Surgery – 1 position – not state-funded;
- Transfusion Hematology – 1 position – state-funded;
- Otorhinolaryngology – 1 position – state-funded;
- Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine – 1 position – state-funded;
- Surgery – 2 positions – state-funded.
1.2. “Resident Nurse / Midwife” in the following specialties:
- Anesthesiology and Intensive Care – 1 position – state-funded;
- Operating Room and Dressing Techniques – 1 position – state-funded;
1.3. “Resident Biologist” in Laboratory Microbiology – 1 position – state-funded.
2. Requirements for occupying the announced positions:
2.1. For the positions under item 1.1:
- Master’s degree in Medicine;
- Membership in the Bulgarian Medical Association (BMA).
2.2. For the position under item 1.2:
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or Midwifery;
- Membership in the Bulgarian Association of Healthcare Professionals (BAHP).
2.3. For the position under item 1.3:
- Master’s degree in Biology.
3. Candidates must submit their applications for participation in the competition no later than February 24, 2025 (inclusive).
Applications must be submitted to the Registry Office of UMHAT “KANEFF” JSC – every working day from 09:00 to 15:00, along with the following documents:
- Certificate of proficiency in Bulgarian language and medical terminology, issued by the Ministry of Education and Science – only for candidates who are foreign nationals and not citizens of an EU Member State, EEA country, or Switzerland;
- Medical certificate for employment – only for candidates who are not employed under a labor contract with UMHAT “Kaneff” JSC;
- Certificate of membership in BAHP – for candidates under item 1.2;
- Certificate of membership in BMA – for candidates under item 1.1;
- Curriculum Vitae;
- Copy of diploma for completed higher education with transcript.
4. Within three working days after the application deadline, a committee appointed by the Employer shall:
- Notify the admitted candidates of the date, time, and venue of the competition;
- Present a protocol to the Executive Director with the list of admitted candidates;
- Review and verify the compliance of candidates’ documents according to the Health Act, Ordinance No.1/2015, the Labor Code, and the Rules for Staff Selection at UMHAT “Kaneff” JSC.
5. The competition shall be held within no less than two weeks and no later than one month from the date of candidate admission, conducted by a committee appointed by the Employer, through an interview based on one practical and one theoretical question from an approved syllabus.
Candidates shall answer the drawn questions orally, as well as any additional questions posed by the committee.
6. The final score of each candidate shall be calculated based on the following criteria:
6.1. Average grade from coursework and state exams, multiplied by a coefficient of 1;
6.2. Grade from the diploma in a subject relevant or closest to the specialty being applied for (if multiple, the arithmetic mean is calculated), multiplied by a coefficient of 2;
6.3. Grade from the knowledge evaluation in the respective specialty, multiplied by a coefficient of 5.
Grading is based on the six-point system. The maximum score for each criterion under item 6 is 6.00, and the total maximum score a candidate can receive is 48.
Any candidate receiving a grade below 5.00 under item 6.3 will be disqualified from the ranking.
- A labor contract under Article 11, Paragraph 1, Item 1 of Ordinance No.1/22.01.2015 of the Ministry of Health shall be signed with the candidate ranked first – the one with the highest final score under item 6.
