CLINIC OF ORTHOPEDICS AND TRAUMATOLOGY
The Clinic of Orthopedics and Traumatology is a highly specialized clinical and scientific unit within the structure of UMHAT “Kanev.” It has an interregional status and is one of the leading clinics nationwide, with long-standing traditions, highly recognized achievements, and continuous innovative development. The clinic performs a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic methods: examination, preoperative assessment, and specialized radiological investigations; closed reduction; immobilization and orthotics for injuries indicated for non-surgical treatment; closed, open, and minimally invasive repositioning and fixation of fractures with the latest implants; primary and revision hip and knee joint arthroplasty; fixation and reconstruction of periprosthetic fractures, with five nationally certified specialists in this field.
Other services include: arthroscopic and arthroscopically assisted interventions and reconstructions of the knee, shoulder, and ankle joints; hand surgery and microsurgery performed by four highly specialized nationally certified specialists; soft tissue interventions and reconstructions for injuries and diseases of muscles, tendons, peripheral nerves, soft tissue, and skin defects; pediatric traumatology and orthopedics at a very high level; highly competent treatment of complex intra-articular fractures, open fractures, polytrauma, and fractures of the pelvis and acetabulum; reconstructive interventions for post-traumatic deformities, shortening, delayed union, nonunion of fractures, bone defects and infections, inflammatory and degenerative joint diseases, joint instability, ligament injuries, sports injuries; treatment of problematic and difficult-to-heal skin wounds using platelet-rich plasma (PRP). The clinic also uses vacuum-assisted therapy and skin-plastic flap procedures for soft tissue defects of the limbs.
Inpatient
The clinic is located on the sixth floor of the Surgical Block and has 43 beds, with designated hospital rooms for pediatric orthopedics and traumatology, as well as for purulent-septic surgery.

Apparatus
The clinic is equipped with two operating rooms and a room for purulent-septic interventions, all furnished with modern medical equipment – state-of-the-art arthroscopic systems, advanced multifunctional operating tables for fracture surgery and joint replacement, two digital fluoroscopic machines with C-arm, an intraoperative patient warming system, electrocauteries, an automatic pneumatic tourniquet, an operating microscope, autoclaves for sterilization, surgical instrument sets, and modern implant systems for internal and external fixation.
