Department of Urology

The activities of the “Urology” department are based on the principles of good medical practice, utilizing the latest methods for the diagnosis and treatment of urological diseases. The department performs conventional surgeries, covering a full range of urological interventions in: pediatric urology, urogynecology, oncological urology, percutaneous techniques, plastic corrections at the patients’ request; treatment of kidney stone disease through ureterorenoscopy, flexible and semi-rigid nephrolitholapaxy; surgical treatment of oncological diseases of the genitourinary system; transurethral, laparoscopic, and conventional surgeries, laser and transurethral treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia, and prostate biopsy.

Inpatient

The Urology department is located on the 5th floor of the Surgical Block of the hospital and has 30 hospital beds.

Apparatus

The department is equipped with modern, highly specialized endourology equipment: transurethral resection with vaporization, flexible and semi-rigid ureterorenoscopies, nephroscopes, Thulium and Holmium laser systems, bipolar resectoscope, and a laparoscopic tower. The system for combined intracorporeal lithotripsy from the Swiss leading manufacturer of precision medical devices E.M.S. Electro Medical Systems S.A. is a true lifesaver for those suffering from kidney stones – one of the most painful conditions.
