Department of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine
The “Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation” department focuses on the treatment and resocialization of patients through effective and highly specialized physiotherapy and rehabilitation, in compliance with the principles of good medical practice. The department has two treatment rooms: one for therapeutic physical exercises and one for hydrotherapy. The rehabilitation treatment targets the following conditions:
- Central nervous system disorders
- Consequences of cerebrovascular disease, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, myelopathy, consequences of head trauma, etc.;
- Peripheral nervous system disorders
- Myelopolyradiculoneuritis, conditions after laminectomies, facial and trigeminal nerve damage, damage to nerve roots and plexuses, mononeuropathies of the upper and lower limbs, Guillain-Barré syndrome, polyneuropathies, consequences of nerve trauma in the upper and lower limbs, and others;
- Musculoskeletal disorders
- Conditions after fractures, post-endoprosthetic surgery, rheumatoid arthritis, degenerative changes in joints, ankylosing spondylitis, and others;
- Chronic ischemic heart disease.
Inpatient
The department is located on the 3rd floor of the Surgical Block and has 30 beds.
Apparatus
The department is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment for treating back and joint pain. The MLS® (Multiwave Locked System) laser device from the leading Italian company ASA overcomes the limitations of traditional laser therapy by combining the advantages of both low and high power laser radiation through the patented “New Quality Pulse.” The department also has a next-generation device for functional magnetic stimulation, which is unparalleled in its field, offering comprehensive solutions in the treatment of musculoskeletal pain and promoting the healing of ligaments and tendons. Additionally, the department is equipped with physiomed, ultrasound devices, magnets, interference pulse, bipulsator, amplipulse, high-voltage device “HV-1,” inhalers, quartz, solux, laser, darsonval, biotron, vortex foot and hand baths, and a tangentor.
