Department of Neurosurgery

The “Neurosurgery” department has an interregional status and performs medical activities at level II of competence. The department provides highly specialized, effective, and accessible medical care for diseases of the central and peripheral nervous system. Surgical treatments are performed for: disc hernias in the lumbar and thoracic regions of the spine, spinal cord tumors in the thoracic and lumbar regions of the spine, brain tumors, subdural or epidural hematomas following traumatic brain injury, intracerebral hematomas, and impression and depression fractures of the skull. Conservative treatment is applied for: concussion, severe traumatic brain injuries not requiring surgical intervention, and non-surgical treatment of spinal cord injuries.

The “Neurosurgery” department is located on the 3rd floor of the Surgical Block and has 9 rooms with 18 beds.
