Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care
The Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care provides specialized emergency medical assistance to patients with severe disturbances in vital body functions, offers consultative and methodological support in the fields of anesthesiology and intensive care, and serves as an established training base for anesthesiology specialization. The department is divided into three structures:
- Anesthesia in the Central Operating Room: Provides preoperative evaluation and anesthesia preparation in a specialized anesthesiology consultation room, in close coordination with specialists in cardiology, endocrinology, neurology, pediatrics, clinical laboratories, and imaging. All anesthesia procedures are performed in operating rooms with modern equipment, and recovery takes place in specially designed and equipped recovery rooms. For diagnostic and/or therapeutic procedures that involve pain, discomfort, nausea, and vomiting, CT, MRI, FGDS, and FKS procedures can be done under sedation, administered by an anesthesiologist, available for an additional fee.
- Intensive Care for Surgical Diseases: Provides intensive treatment, monitoring, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation. This structure functions as an emergency department, territorially and administratively independent from the other clinical structures of the hospital. Patients needing treatment and support due to severe disturbances in vital functions, with indications of potential fatal decompensation in the near future, as well as patients requiring intensive monitoring and treatment of vital functions, are treated here. It also includes patients in a state of brain death, subject to a comprehensive set of diagnostic and therapeutic methods aimed at maintaining organ donors for transplantation. This structure is equipped with 10 intensive care beds.
- Anesthesia and Intensive Care in Obstetrics and Gynecology: Provides specialized, high-quality, planned and emergency medical care, carried out by anesthesiology and resuscitation specialists. It involves preoperative evaluation of the patient’s condition and risk, intensive monitoring and treatment during the postoperative period for patients with severely compromised vital functions in obstetrics and gynecology, care for high-risk patients with oncological diseases and their related postoperative resuscitation and treatment, as well as pain management during normal childbirth.
