Memorandum of Cooperation – University Hospital “Kaneff” and Ruse Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI)
Today, the Executive Director of the University Multiprofile Hospital for Active Treatment “Kaneff” AD in Ruse, Eng. Ivan Ivanov, and the Chairman of the Ruse Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Prof. DSc Eng. Krasimir Enimanev, signed a cooperation agreement.
This agreement aims to support the development and recognition of University Hospital “Kaneff” AD as a leading medical and research center and to help the hospital maintain its accreditation across all medical fields in which it currently operates.
One of the primary goals is the formation of joint working teams to develop project proposals of mutual interest and to build sufficient capacity to support the hospital’s mission as a university hospital.
Hospital Director Ivan Ivanov emphasized that the realization of the idea of a university hospital is a cause that should be supported by everyone and that the cooperation with the Ruse Chamber of Commerce and Industry is a step in that direction. He noted that local businesses should be involved not only through donations but also through active joint activities. Similar agreements have already been signed with the “Angel Kanchev” University of Ruse, the “Lyuben Karavelov” Regional Library, and, just two days ago, with the “D. A. Tsenov” Academy of Economics in Svishtov. Talks are underway for a future agreement with “Prof. Dr. Asen Zlatarov” University in Burgas. These collaborations will allow hospital doctors to conduct meaningful scientific research, specialize in accredited academic programs, and pursue doctoral degrees.
Importantly, the hospital counts on effective collaboration to help build a new, high-quality scientific infrastructure—crucial for the development of medical professionals.
Prof. Krasimir Enimanev pointed out that the shortage of medical personnel is a global issue. There is a lack of qualified doctors, nurses, physician assistants, orderlies, and specialized support staff. If urgent action is not taken now, the future of hospital care and patient service is predictable—and not in a positive direction.
He stressed the shared mission to create opportunities for training new professionals and to provide existing staff with chances for growth. Many young people have yet to find their calling. After the global crisis we are currently experiencing, many will reassess their career goals and may choose medicine as their path. It is our duty to support this process through training, qualification, and specialization.
All of this can only be achieved through the joint efforts of the entire Ruse community.
