11th Edition of the Scientific-Practical Conference \u201cHot Topics in Pediatrics\u201d Held in Ruse<\/strong><\/p>\r\n

The 11th edition of the Scientific-Practical Conference “Hot Topics in Pediatrics”<\/strong> in Ruse opened with a presentation by Prof. Vladimir Pilosov<\/strong>, Chair of the Bulgarian Pediatric Association, who introduced the project \u201cHear the Child \u2013 Child-Friendly Justice.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\r\n

The opening ceremony featured distinguished guests including Prof. Hristo Beloev<\/strong>, Rector of the University of Ruse, Stanimir Stanchev<\/strong>, Deputy Regional Governor, and Prof. Vladimir Pilosov<\/strong>, Chair of the Bulgarian Pediatric Association. Dr. Daniela Daritkova<\/strong>, Chair of the Health Committee in the National Assembly, sent a congratulatory address, commending the organizers and wishing fruitful discussions. A welcome message was also sent by Dr. Ivan Stoyanov<\/strong>, Executive Director of Kaneff University Hospital, who expressed confidence that the conference would contribute to enhancing scientific and practical expertise.<\/p>\r\n

Online greetings were delivered by Prof. L\u00e1szl\u00f3 Szi\u00e1ni<\/strong> from Budapest \u2014 a leading European and global pediatrician, hepatologist, and transplantologist \u2014 who shared his appreciation for Ruse, calling it his favorite city. Prof. Florin Iordachescu<\/strong> from “Budimex Clinic” in Bucharest, Romania, also addressed the participants.<\/p>\r\n

At the opening of the forum, Prof. Hristo Beloev<\/strong> thanked the event\u2019s organizers \u2014 the Union of Scientists \u2013 Ruse<\/strong>, the Department of Pediatrics at Medical University \u2013 Varna<\/strong>, and Kaneff University Hospital<\/strong>. He expressed his satisfaction that the University of Ruse is once again hosting discussions on important issues in child healthcare with professionals from across the country.<\/p>\r\n

Prof. Pilosov<\/strong> shared the idea of establishing an Advisory Council<\/strong> within the Bulgarian Pediatric Association, composed of experts engaged in child healthcare.<\/p>\r\n

The conference featured 37 presentations<\/strong> on pediatric topics, including challenges in working with clinical pathways, analysis of errors and shortcomings in pediatric practice through medical audits, and product presentations by pharmaceutical companies.<\/p>\r\n

The first session focused on the \u201cHear the Child\u201d<\/em> project, implemented by the Institute for Social Activities and Practices. The initiative aims to improve the situation of children who are victims or witnesses of violence, providing individual assessments of their specific needs.<\/p>\r\n

Participants discussed various options for treating childhood diseases. The final presentation was delivered by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Boyko Shentov<\/strong> and Dr. Nia Krasteva<\/strong> from Medical University \u2013 Pleven, on \u201cThe Impact of Obesity on Lung Function in Children with Bronchial Asthma.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\r\n

Over the course of the two-day event, discussions followed each presentation, significantly enriching both the scientific knowledge and practical experience of the attendees.<\/p>\r\n

During the conference, more than 30 pharmaceutical companies<\/strong> set up exhibition stands in the lobby of the Kaneff Center, promoting new pediatric medications.<\/p>\r\n

At the closing ceremony, Prof. Pilosov<\/strong> proposed that Assoc. Prof. Dr. Svilen Dosev<\/strong> be elected to the newly forming Advisory Council<\/strong> of the Bulgarian Pediatric Association.<\/p>\r\n

The driving force and main organizer of the conference in Ruse once again was Assoc. Prof. Dr. Svilen Dosev<\/strong>, physician in the Pediatric Department at Kaneff University Hospital<\/strong> and Associate Professor at the Faculty of Public Health and Health Care<\/strong> at the University of Ruse \u201cAngel Kanchev\u201d<\/strong>, Department of Health Care.<\/p>\r\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
